For sale in the UK is a 1973 model Volkswagen panel van. This one was originally blue but has been repainted by its previous owner. The front bumper shown in the pictures is a special item allowing the van to be towed behind a motorhome. We will be supplying a standard replacement.
Very few of these panel vans were sold in the USA due to a punitive tax levied by the government in the 1960's on commercial vehicles from Germany. The so-called 'Chicken Tax' was introduced in retalliation for the high level of import duty charged on imported American poultry. This the reason why VW pick-ups and panel vans are found so rarely in the States.
